Here we look at changes to meals for children and young people in educational settings. The Polish Minister of Health\u2019s regulation of 16 February 2026 has applied since 1 September 2026 and covers schools and preschools, among others. It does not automatically apply to nurseries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-wiecej-roznorodnosci-i-dan-roslinnych\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">More variety and plant-based dishes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A weekly menu should include at least one complete lunch based on pulses, without animal products. When meat or fish is served, children who do not eat it should receive a complete plant-based alternative. Vegetables, fruit and wholegrains also play a larger role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-mieso-ryby-i-napoje\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meat, fish and drinks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rules call for at least one fish lunch and two lunches with a meat dish prepared from fresh meat each week. They limit added sugar in drinks made on site and recommend water as the first-choice drink. They also encourage seasonal and local products where possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-co-to-oznacza-dla-werandy-smakow\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does this mean for Weranda Smak\u00f3w?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We review the requirements when planning menus for schools and preschools. We have long used vegetables, pulses and grains, and our dietitian plans the menus.
